Breathing new life into an outdated space can be a challenge for any designer. Our client requested that we create a new lobby design that gives the guest a feel of the islands, while still using the architectural elements of the space. We cladded the columns to better represent the architecture native to the area, showing respect to the island’s history, but with an added hint of vibrancy with the use of the bright colour accents. The neutral palette of the furniture became the backdrop for the splash of colours inspired by the ocean and sunsets. Transforming the unused lower lobby, into a place for relaxation, and fun activities for all ages, gives excitement and purpose back into the heart of this hotel area.
